Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Strati Timer is published by Ngoc Tran, trading as Delnart Studio, an individual entrepreneur registered in France (SIREN 845 257 120), based in 66250 Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque, France. For anything related to this policy or your data, contact delnart@hotmail.com. Full publisher details are in the Legal Notice.
2. What we collect
Strati Timer works entirely without an account — in that case nothing you do ever leaves your device. If you create an account, we additionally process:
- Account data: the email and password you sign up with (your password is never stored in readable form — authentication is handled by Supabase), a username, and an optional avatar.
- Cubing data: your solve times, sessions, personal bests, achievements, and (if you use them) drill and training history — synced to our database so it follows you across devices.
- Social features: if you use friends, leaderboards, or public profile pages, the display name, avatar, and cubing stats you choose to share become visible to other users per your own sharing settings.
- Coaching: if you accept a coach, that person can see the solve times in the sessions you share with them and leave comments on individual solves, and can set you goals and training plans. Either of you can end the relationship at any time, which stops that access.
- Email preferences: whether you want to hear from us about product news or new features. Both are off unless you turn them on.
- World Cube Association (WCA) link: if you choose to connect your WCA account, we store your public WCA ID, name, and avatar URL as returned by the WCA’s own sign-in (we only ever request public-scope access — never your WCA password or private data).
- Crash/error reports: if the app encounters an unexpected error, a technical error report (including your browser, and the part of the app that failed) is sent to our error-monitoring provider, Sentry, to help us fix bugs. This does not include your solve times or cubing data.
3. Why we process it
- To provide the service you asked for — creating an account, syncing your data across devices, showing you to your friends, or linking your WCA profile only happens because you chose to use that feature (performance of a contract with you).
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and working (error monitoring).
- Your consent — only for the optional emails about product news or new features. You give it by turning those on yourself, and you can take it back at any time in Settings → Email Preferences, without affecting anything else.
We don’t make any automated decisions about you, and we don’t profile you. The technique analysis on the Statistics page describes solves you already did — nothing about your account depends on it.
4. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use advertising or marketing trackers. Data is only shared with the service providers that make Strati Timer work:
- Supabase (Singapore) — hosts our account database and authentication.
- Netlify (USA) — hosts the web application itself.
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) — receives technical crash reports only, as described above.
- The World Cube Association — only if you choose to link your account, to verify your identity and read your public competition results.
Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area (the USA, Singapore). Where that’s the case, we rely on the safeguards those providers publish in their own privacy policies (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data in transit and at rest.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and cubing data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- Crash reports are retained by Sentry per their own retention policy (currently 90 days).
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict some of the processing described above. In practice:
- You can delete your account entirely, at any time, from Settings → Account → Delete Account — this immediately and permanently removes your account data from our database.
- You can withdraw consent for the optional emails at any time in Settings → Email Preferences — no email required.
- For anything else — access, correction, export, or a question about your data — email delnart@hotmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
- You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.
7. Cookies and local storage
Strati Timer doesn’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and doesn’t run any visit-tracking or analytics of its own. Your browser’s local storage is only used for things the app strictly needs to function — your timer settings, session data, and (if logged in) your authentication token — so this doesn’t require consent.
8. Children
The timer works without an account at any age, and in that case nothing you do leaves your device. Creating an account requires you to be at least 15 — or older where your own country sets a higher age for consenting to this yourself — and a parent or guardian’s agreement below that (see the Terms of Use). We don’t verify ages, so if you believe a child has given us personal data without the appropriate consent, contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. In particular, when we introduce paid premium features (see the Terms of Use), payment will be handled by Stripe — we don’t process or store your card details ourselves; Stripe receives what it needs to process the payment (e.g. your card details, billing name, and email) under its own privacy policy. We’ll update this section with the specifics once that feature actually ships.
